TESTIMONY

I didn’t believe he was there.
Until I heard from him.
He gave his testimony with confidence,
How his past life was.
Serving the underworld.
Now he is standing here,
Telling the world his story.
Hoping to touch someone out there.
But I can tell you even before
He had started someone had already
Believed there is someone greater somewhere.


FILM MANIACS

All my friends are film maniac
No doubt movie is their breathe
I usually enjoy there company
Walking, smiling and eating
With them feel like you in a movie.

And since I am a movie-crazy too,
All our behaviors are similar
And always you will find us glued
To action movies, adventures, comedies
Crimes, epics, dramas, horrors, musical
Science fiction, war film and western movies.

HOLD ME

I dedicate my life to you,
And I promise I will live for you.
Everything I have I give it to you,
I can get anything from you.

Temptation will try to separate me from you
But I promise one thing I will remain true
Without you, am nothing to you
So give me strength to serve you.


ON THE HEADLINES!!

“News making our headline:
Corruption again!!.
The head of government found himself
Again in a scandal involving stealing of money.

Hunger struck many parts of country!!
Many people dying for shortage of food
Due to the drought that have hit the country.
What’s the government doing about this?

Disease outbreak!!
The country has experienced a disease outbreak
Living many humans’ dead.
The people are waiting for government to bring aid.

Tribal war!!
Many were killed due to tribal war
Among the two tribes fighting for equality.
The government is yet to reach there.

Closure!!
The government has issued
A warning for the closure of this station
Immediately. Starting right now.”

WANTED!!

His age is possibly in twenties
He is plump and has a relatively normal height,
With dark eyes, the hair is dark which is close-cropped,
He is an African with light-brown skin.
If seen him contact your nearest poetry teacher,
Wanted for up gradation.


WHY WERE YOU INVENTED?

Why were you invented?
It lingers on my mind now and then.
It seem I can’t do without you,
Am always with you
Or thinking about you
Why you doing this to me?
You help me,
But not to this extent.
Everything I have to do, there I am,
Consulting you.
I try hard to run away but
The far I go the closer you get.
Since I have failed to get away today,
Come tomorrow you never know,
I could have forgotten about you.


CHANGES

What would you do different,
If you could turn back the clock?
Would you change things?
Everyone has something,
They could change, if they could.
Imagine I turning the clock back,
Would I have thought of this,
To scribble it down here?
Surely something would have changed.



WILL I

I want to be a celebrity,
Something I‘ve been wishing for,
On cover of the top magazine,
Photographed while on vacation.
Chatting with the president while
Smiling with the residents.
Playing golf in the most expensive hoods.
Living on a large home,
Driving expensive cars and looking well.
Something that we non-Celebes
Will probably never experience.
Will I?
WE’VE GOT ONLY ONE WORLD.

We’ve got only one world,
Why then fight amongst ourselves?
Many dying and thousands injured
Only on a day.
How many are those in a year?

We’ve got only one world,
Why then dye of hunger?
While we can do something
To fight it.
How long will it take to defeat it?

We’ve got only one world,
Why then is there poverty?
Many humans struggling to find
There daily breads.
Surely, nothing can be done about this?

We’ve got only one world,
Why then are human’s endangered species?
Polluting our environment by dumping
Waste in waters we use.
How many times do you want to be warned?

Hey!! We’ve got only one world,
It’s time
To wake from our deep sleep, style our lives
And stop being reminded,
How many worlds’ we’ve got.
